Waiter Tray
A waiter’s tray is similar to a waiter’s stand or jack stand in the fact that it makes the serving process more efficient at an event. The waiter’s tray is also used in restaurants and serves a couple of purposes:
A waiter’s tray can be made of silver, glass, plastic or wood and usually is balanced on the palm of the waiter’s hand. The tray is usually held at the waiter’s head height and then rotated to chest level for serving. The waiter’s tray is not meant to hold an abundance of plates because of the circumference of the tray itself, although this could vary. The stronger the waiter, the more plates that could probably be balanced on the tray especially during cleanup as plates could be stacked on top of one another. Waiter trays that are used strictly for serving usually have a rubber surface covering that prevents plates and drinks from slipping around on the tray while it is being carried. Waiter trays can also be eaten off of which is more likely in a home setting or other small event. Waiter trays come in a variety of sizes and styles and can be very informal or formal in terms of design depending on the type of event. Waiter trays can also be obtained to match the design of the place setting as well. Waiter trays are great because they are usually stackable and store easily
