Salt and Pepper Shakers
Salt and Pepper shakers are containers that hold salt, pepper and any other spice as needed. Salt and pepper shakers are usually found on every table at an event so that guests can add seasoning to their food as they see fit. Each shaker has tiny holes in their tops Salt and pepper shakers can be made with any material including:

- Plastic
- Glass
- Porcelain
- China
- Stainless Steel
Usually the bottom or top of the shaker unscrews so that a supply of the seasoning can be poured in. Some shakers are extremely decorative and might come with a china set, while others are just made of hard plastic. The salt and pepper shakers sit on the tables at an event, or are brought around to guests after their meal has been served and should be clean and in good condition. Salt and pepper shakers are not an element of the table décor but should be comparable to the elegance of the event itself otherwise they will look tacky. There is usually one set of shakers per table which guests can share and pass around as needed. The use of salt and pepper shakers in the home isn’t much different. People could choose to have two set of shakers however, one for more formal occasions and another for more informal gatherings. The formal salt and pepper shakers might be made of porcelain or glass while the informal ones might be made of wood or stainless steel.
