Pastry Cart
A pastry cart is a portable shelved cart used for the transport and viewing of desserts during an event. Some events have a wide selection of desserts so, a cart is usually put together so guests can view which dessert they would like to have. The server could give the guest their choice of dessert right off the cart or could take an order and bring their selection back to the table.
The cart itself has shelves that can be pulled out in order to allow easy access to the desserts in the middle of the cart. Pastry carts can be made typically of metal or wood and have wheels for easy portability. The pastry cart is usually loaded in the kitchen area and then brought out to the guests for viewing and sampling. A pastry cart could also be used to transport a dessert such as a wedding cake. Wedding cakes can be extremely heavy and the possibility of dropping a cake needed for an event is unacceptable.
