Event firm opens facility in Alhambra
ALHAMBRA - Event Solutions is open for business.
The Culver City-based catering and event planning company has leased 10,000 square feet of space in The Alhambra, a 45-acre, 1 million-square-foot-office campus.
The space includes a fully
equipped commercial kitchen and Caf at The Alhambra, a small eatery that will cater primarily to the development's 3,500-
plus office workers.
"We still have our corporate offices in Culver City with our administrators and event-
planning team," said Brad Lipshy, the company's chief executive officer. "Alhambra is where our production facility is and where the catering is prepared."
Founded in 1987, Event Solutions specializes in providing catering and event planning for a variety of occasions including corporate and home events.
The business prides itself on its team approach to event management.
The business includes event planners, food and beverage directors, operations directors and an executive chef supported by other chefs, captains, cooks, servers and entertainers.
"We do about 40 to 60 events a month," Lipshy said. "Today we had two events."
One of Tuesday's events was a board of directors
meeting for El Segundo-based Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems.The night meeting was to be held in the Antelope Valley.
"It's a sizable group - probably 50 to 60 people," said Keith Burton, a community relations representative for Northrop Grumman. "We've dealt with Event Solutions before. We used them when we did an open house for employees and their families in El Segundo. That was for about 10,000 people - and it was flawless."
Burton said Event Solutions came with strong references because Northrop's IT Solutions group had used the company in the past.
"We have a selection process that we have to go through," he said. "They were the company's choice and we've been very happy with the service we've received."
Lipshy said his company is more than happy with its new digs.
"It's just a great facility," he said. "The landlord is great, and the kitchen is just exquisite. It's probably one of the biggest catering kitchens in Los Angeles County. It's about 4,000 square feet."
Caf at The Alhambra will offer fresh food for The Alhambra's breakfast and lunch crowds with an emphasis on California cuisine served at a reasonable price, Lipshy said.
Event Solutions will also operate an outdoor coffee cart with light refreshments in an alfresco setting, said Victoria Deise Wilson, a senior development manager overseeing The Alhambra on behalf of its owner, The Alhambra Office Community, a company associated with The Ratkovich Co., and its partner, American International Group.
Lipshy said The Alhambra's close proximity to the San Bernardino (10) and Long Beach (710) freeways will help Event Solutions better serve its Southern California customers.
The company's corporate customers include American Honda, Pepsi Bottling Group, Honeywell, Canon Business Solutions and Matt Construction, among others.
