Invitation(s)
An invitation is an informal or formal written, spoken, or hand received request for one’s attendance at an event. The number of invitations that you send out related to the number of guests you expect to be in attendance. Invitations are also important because they allow the event planner to confirm how many people based on their availability will be able to attend the event.
The RSVP section of an invitation usually asks that the invitee call the event planner or mail the RSVP card back. The RSVP simply asks the guests to confirm by a specific date whether or not they will be able to attend. It is the event planner’s job to keep a record of the number of guests who are coming and not coming to the event, this number is then used as the final count for the guest list.
If you are using an event planner for your event, the invitations will more than likely be mailed because it is the more formal approach. The type of invitation you submit and the manner in which it is received is very important. The invitation is the first written notice of your party and is meant to one, inform your guests about the details of the party and two, to get them excited about the event.
The way you decide to present your party for the first time to your guests can greatly affect its success. You want to make sure that your invitations are first and foremost legible and that you include:
The invitation gives the guests the crucial information they need to attend your event. It is important to include who is throwing the event- whether the host is a company or an individual. The reason the event is being thrown is even more important because the guests needs to know how to dress and whether or not they need to bring gift. If you send out invitations and fail to mention that it is a wedding no one will think to bring a gift. Invitations can be very elaborately decorated and contain images that correspond to your theme, or they can be very simple and elegant.
