Generator - Generators
A generator is an electrical machine that converts one type of energy to another. In the event planning industry generators are often a mandatory component when the use of a large supply of energy is needed or there are no available outlets. Generators also prevent blackouts from the overuse of a power supply. Generators used in the event planning industry are portable making them an essential part of any event. If you are hosting an outdoor beach party complete with food and games, you need to be able to access electricity. Generators save event planners from hunting for power outlets and using long unsightly power extensions to pop popcorn or play music.
When conducting a site visit it is important to determine where the power outlets are- if there are any. You need to know if it is feasible to use an extension cord(s) and how to camouflage them if necessary. Nothing looks more messy and unprofessional than groups of cords running every which way through out your party. They are not only tacky but a safety hazard as well because people could easily trip over the cords especially if there is alcohol involved. If the venue or site does not offer a power source, you need to then figure out how many generators you would need based on the percentage of your operation that actually needs power.
