Table Skirt

Table Skirt – Skirting A table skirt is a decorative fabric placed around a table to add to the décor. A table skirt is used on banquet tables and is different from a table cloth because the table skirt hangs vertically from the edge of the table so that the legs of the table are hidden while the table cloth only covers the top of the table. It is called a table skirt naturally because it encloses the legs of the table. Often times, banquet tables have been rented time and time again and so their legs might be in poor condition. The skirt will cover any imperfections and complete the table décor.It is assumed that the table skirt will match the color and fabric style of the tablecloth because if they are different colors it would look tacky. The table skirt hangs over the laps of the guests once they are seated at the table and just helps to further enhance the formality. The table skirt is usually attached to the edge of the table by several indiscrete plastic clips that hold it in place. A table cloth can also be used as a table skirt if it is long enough to reach at least halfway to the floor from the edge of the table. Basically during a formal event, you don’t want any part of the table to show unless it is for a specific reason. The table skirt and cloth are both under the linen umbrella.
