BALBOA PARK

overview:
Balboa Park is comprised of 1,200 acres of land. Features include the world famous San Diego Zoo, 15 museums, golf, theaters and landscaped gardens and courtyards with fountains and porticos. The venue is often used for weddings and receptions with its eight picturesque gardens available. The Alcazar Garden was inspired by the gardens of the Alcazar Castle in Seville, Spain. The rose garden is spread over three acres with more that 2,500 roses in 200 varieties.

BOLSA CHICA STATE PARK

overview:
Bolsa Chica State Beach sits on a three mile stretch between Seal Beach and Huntington Beach. Popular activities include surf fishing, grunion runs and bird watching. There are two covered picnic areas, two uncovered picnic areas and a grass section, all of which are available for events. The Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve is located just across the road.

CASA DEL PRADO

OVERVIEW
Casa Del Prado is located in San Diego’s Balboa Park near and is comprised of two outdoor venues. The enclosed courtyard features a wishing well and holds 150 for seated events and 200 for receptions. The Casa Del Prado Theatre features a historic fig tree and holds 320 for seated events and 400 for receptions.

CHASE PALM PARK

overview:
Chase Palm Park sits on 10 acres of land adjacent to East Beach. It features fountains, creeks, a lagoon and a carousel. There is also a Spanish-style building with a small conference sunroom that holds 125 for receptions and 96 for seated events. Also available is a large grassy lawn space.

EL PUEBLO DE LOS ANGELES

overview:
This 44-acre park is thought to be the birthplace of the city of Los Angeles. It features four museums, historical buildings, an outdoor plaza and the Olvera Street Mexican marketplace. The entire park houses 27 buildings and holds up to 15,000 people.

EMBARCADERO MARINA PARKS NORTH AND SOUTH

The Embarcadero Marina Parks border the Seaport Village and the San Diego Convention Center. Both parks, north and south, feature a fishing pier, basketball courts, walkways and gazebos. The south park features a symphony summer pop series and other concerts. The north park holds 3,000 while the south park holds 5,000.

GRIFFITH PARK

Griffith Park is the largest municipal park with an urban wilderness area in the United States. It sits on 4,210 acres land featuring four picnic areas, landscaping, golf courses, the L.A. Zoo and an equestrian center. It is also home to the Autry National Center, the Greek Theater, Travel Town and the Griffith Observatory.

LA JOLLA SHORES

Located on just one mile of beach, the La Jolla Shores is a popular destination for relaxing University students and scuba divers. With gentle waves creating ideal conditions, scuba diving classes are given throughout the summer. The nearby grassy section, Kellogg Park is perfect for picnics. The Steven Birch Aquarium is less than a half-mile away. The beach allows groups of up to 75; anything larger requires a permit.

LAGUNA NIGEL REGIONAL PARK

overview:
The Laguna Nigel Regional Park sits on 236 acres and includes a 44-acre lake that allows boating and fishing.  The park features hiking trails, two sand volleyball courts, jogging trails, a gazebo and several picnic areas. Most picnic areas hold 50 people, while the large group shelter holds 250. There is also an amphitheater that holds 100.

overview:
Lantern Bay Park offers several venues for events overlooking Dan Point Harbor. The park features lawn space with picnic tables, a basketball court, a playground and the Smythe Brothers Amphitheater that seats 100. The park can accommodate 500 for receptions.

LEO CARILLO STATE PARK

overview:
This state park is located in northern Malibu just before Oxnard. The park offers a mile-and-a-half of beach for swimming, surfing, windsurfing and surf fishing. For the explorers out there, it offers coastal caves, tide pools and reefs. Campgrounds and picnic areas are shaded by giant sycamores. Back country hiking is also an available activity.

overview:
This 127-acre property offers endless options for events. There are five different gardens, fountains, historical buildings, several meeting and function halls, a greenhouse and a landscaped lawn. The historical area features a Victorian cottage, a rose garden and an adobe home. Peacocks and peahens are often spotted running around the grounds.

MANNING PARK

overview:
A variety of activities is available in this Montecito park, from softball to tennis to horseback riding. The manicured grounds filled with foliage and flora were once a part of a private estate and make great picnic areas. A renovated historic carriage house is available to some groups.

MARINA PARK

overview:
Marina Park sits on 15 acres of land bordering an expansive beach. The park offers several covered pavilions for picnics, volleyball courts, a hand-launch boat dock, grills and play areas. Sailing and fishing can be done in the nearby marina.

PACIFIC PARK, SANTA MONICA

overview:
Pacific Park is an amusement park located on the historic Santa Monica Pier. The park offers 12 rides, 21 midway games with prizes and a mini golf course on the oceanfront. The park offers custom catering for events and bar packages are available. Full buyouts are available for up to 1,800 people.

SALT CREEK BEACH

overview:
Located just below the Ritz-Carlton, this wide beach is a prime location for outdoor receptions. There is a paved path from the beach to the seven-acre park. The park features plenty of grassy space, barbeque grills and picnic tables. It can accommodate groups of up to 300 for parties and receptions.

SANTA ANITA PARK

overview:
This equestrian race park features an Art Deco clubhouse, antique sculptures and fountains, landscaped lawns, a playground and picnic facilities. Events can be held on the grassy infield, which accommodates 1,500 for receptions.

SANTA BARBARA ZOOLOGICAL GARDENS

overview:
This 30-acre zoo is located right on the Pacific Ocean with several indoor and outdoor venues for events. There is a hilltop area with barbeque pits and views of the ocean, which accommodates 2,500. The Cabrillo Lawn near the Cats of Africa holds 300 and the Karisoke Outpost holds 50.

SANTIAGO OAKS REGIONAL PARK

overview:
This 350-acre reserve is located in the foothills of the Santa Ana Mountains. It features a mountain arbor, two large patios, a conference room with a fireplace, a kitchen and available audiovisual equipment. The park features hiking trails, picnic facilities and nature programs and accommodates 150 for receptions.

SHORELINE PARK

overview:
Shoreline Park is located along the ocean just outside downtown Santa Barbara. From the park, guests can view the harbor, the Channel Islands and the Santa Ynez Mountains. The park offers covered and uncovered picnic facilities.

TEMESCAL GATEWAY PARK

overview:
This park is situated on 141 acres of oak and sycamore canyons in the Santa Monica Mountains, just one mile from the coast. The park offers views from the ridge tops and access to extensive hiking trails. There are meeting rooms, classrooms and an auditorium. Woodland Hall is a Craftsman-style building with 30-foot ceilings and a slate fireplace. Located adjacent to it is the Woodland Terrace lawn shrouded in trees.
