Card Table
A card table is an inexpensive table with foldable legs usually made of metal. The table itself usually has a cushioned top and can be used for seating at an informal event. The table itself can also be used for card games, hence the name. Card tables are squared and usually seat up to four people. Card tables, just like any other table, can be covered with a tablecloth for aesthetic purposes. Card tables are usually brown or black which can be very dark for a special event. They can be easily set up and stored due to their collapsibility. Card tables do not typically take up a vast amount of space so they could be manipulated to fit into a tight space. Despite all of the positive features, card tables are rarely used for large formal events because:
- They only seat 4 people
- They aren’t incredibly sturdy
- They are informal
- The cushioned tops make spills likely
Card tables are generally very informal and should not be used for formal seating because they are not incredibly sturdy for a full set up. Card tables would be good for seating children who are small enough to have ample room to eat and play. Children are small enough in stature so their extra weight wouldn’t cause the tables to collapse. Card tables are perfect for picnics, super bowl parties or anything held in the home such as a wake or baby shower. When covered with a tablecloth, card tables appear to be just like any other squared table.
