Backdrop - Backdrops

A backdrop is a painted image hung or placed from ceiling to floor in order to cover a wall or space. The painted image on the backdrop is meant to create a certain time and place in the venue. The backdrop itself can be made of wood, fabric or glass and has the sole purpose of decorating a space. Generally, backdrops are used on stages to cover the dressing rooms and other spaces the audience is not supposed to see and in the event planning industry they have almost the same function. Backdrops are meant to dress a room in line with the theme of the event. They are meant to create an illusion, whether it is at an event or on a stage. It adds a great amount of wonder because of the vast space it can cover. In a large venue, having a backdrop that reaches from the floor to the ceiling is extremely impressive and will immediately decorate the room. Using a backdrop is like setting a stage; it is a giant prop. Backdrops can be created for almost any theme and include images such as:

  • The Ocean/ Sea Life
  • Dinosaurs
  • Spanish Villages
  • Jungles
  • Trapeze Artists
  • Beautiful Women
  • Sunsets
  • Sky imagery

One can obtain a backdrop with any image as they so desire. Backdrops can even be made in solid colors, but if used during an event, it is more common to have imagery. Once a backdrop is chosen, all of the décor should match the colors and overall theme in the image because it is the largest visual point. Backdrops cover such a vast space so they immediately transport the guests into another world. It is a prop big enough to get your  guests excited immediately about your event. Having a backdrop is an immediate transformation of your event space.
