The atmosphere could change depending on the guests’ moods and reactions to the event. Atmosphere can not be anticipated; it is totally dependent on the guests and their reactions. If your décor set up is a carnival picnic, you could expect the atmosphere to be very light and fun. If you are catering a funeral repass then the atmosphere would be very gloomy and quiet but it could vary depending on the guests’ reactions to death. If they believe death is an occasion for a celebration then the overall atmosphere of the event would lighten. You could have the best décor, entertainment and staff in the world, but if the guests are boring then the atmosphere of the event will be stale and depressing.
There are things that you could do to lighten the atmosphere if an event is progressing badly or people seem to be dissatisfied. You could offer free alcohol, suggest a change in music or simply inquire about what you can do to improve the event.
